Cool Shit

I am currently  reading this book, The other Side by Alfred Kubin,  that seems to have been very influential for an important  generation of surrealists and philosophers, such as Franz Kafka and Meyrink. I must say that I am enjoying it very much, its imagery  is shocking, disturbing and pretty. I won't give many details about the plot since I am not a good book teller.
Basically it is about an illustrator who is invited to the dark land known as Pearl/Joya, in which he finds some deep inspiration due to the bizarre appearance of the place (people mechanically ranting at clocks, tall walls that keep haunted residents isolated, just great). However, a subsequent tragedy buries the protagonist in a nightmareish destructive- landscape that drives him crazy. Unable to escape from his dreams within nightmares and vice versa, turning rapidly into a sort of disastrous, ominous tale of horror and dreams, rubbing even the sci fi. Amazing.
